SURGERY TYPE
Straightening a twisted nose
A twisted nose presents with a C or S shape on the nasal bridge, whereas a deviated nose is straight but slants to one side or the other. Underneath the external appearance, the septum, which is the partition wall of bone and cartilage, is misaligned in some way. A rhinoplasty addresses the aesthetic appearance of the nose and a septoplasty reshapes and repositions the septum. If both form and function are addressed, the procedure is known as a septoplasty.
