PATIENT STORY
Ethan’s Revision Rhinoplasty Experience
Ethan had previously undergone nasal surgery to correct breathing issues. Although his breathing was now fine, he had been left with a saddle deformity, which Mr Annakan Navaratnam fixed via a closed rhinoplasty procedure.
I had my original surgery at the start of 2024, and the aim was to fix my breathing and shave down a little bit in front of my nose. After about two or three months, I started to notice a small dent in my nose, which progressively worsened as the swelling subsided.
By July 2024, I was thinking this isn’t what my nose is supposed to look like. It looked like a massive slide down the middle, and there was so much missing.
I spoke with the original surgeon, but I also wanted a second opinion. I started looking for surgeons, and Annakan was at the top of the list. So, divine intervention led me to find him.
I first met Annakan in August 2024. We went through the options and what would be most beneficial for me, and we decided on a closed surgery as opposed to an open one. I didn’t really want to have such invasive surgery again, and Annakan agreed with that.
I had a revision rhinoplasty performed by Annakan on 20 January 2025. I had been very worried leading up to the surgery, after having a previous surgery go wrong, but as soon as the swelling went down, I realised I didn’t have anything to worry about.
